We are proud of Sidlesham Primary School and the warm, inclusive community our children, staff and families create together.
Our latest Ofsted inspection took place on 22–23 September 2026. Inspectors recognised the significant improvements across the school, awarding Strong standard in five areas, with Expected standard in achievement and attendance and behaviour. Safeguarding standards were met.
These findings reflect our commitment to helping every child grow in ambition, confidence and kindness.

What Ofsted Said
The report celebrates many aspects of school life that matter to our children and families:

An ambitious, well-taught curriculum: carefully sequenced learning, consistent teaching and effective support help pupils build their knowledge and understanding.

A highly inclusive school: staff identify children’s needs quickly and adapt learning so that pupils can learn effectively alongside their peers.

Strong pastoral care: children’s wellbeing is a priority, with staff working closely with families to provide support.

A strong start in the early years: high-quality interactions, secure relationships and well-established routines help children learn and prepare for Year 1.

Rich opportunities beyond the classroom: trips, clubs, music and pupil leadership roles develop children’s interests, talents and confidence.

Effective leadership and governance: inspectors recognised the positive impact of school improvement and the shared ambition for every pupil to achieve well.
Inspectors also described a calm, purposeful learning environment where children are kind, respectful and keen to learn. Pupils trust adults to help them, feel safe and develop a strong sense of belonging.
Continuing to Improve
Ofsted recognised that pupils’ achievement has increased significantly over the last two years and that attendance has improved across all groups.
Our next step is to build on this progress by embedding our attendance strategy. We will continue working closely with families so that every child can attend regularly and benefit fully from school life.
