SEND

At Sidlesham Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child is supported to succeed.

We are an inclusive school where pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) are fully valued and supported to achieve their potential. Our approach reflects our values of Ambition, Confidence and Kindness.

Our Approach

We believe that high-quality teaching is the first step in supporting all pupils.

We:

  • adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners

  • provide additional support where needed

  • work closely with families and external professionals

  • ensure pupils feel confident, included and supported

We recognise that every child is different and tailor our provision accordingly.

How We Support Our Pupils

Support may include:

  • adapted classroom teaching and resources

  • small group or one-to-one support

  • targeted interventions

  • support for social, emotional and mental health

  • external agency involvement where appropriate

We regularly review progress to ensure support is effective and responsive to pupils’ needs.

Our SEND Team

Our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) is currently:

Our SENCO works closely with:

Hester supports pupils and families with attendance, wellbeing and wider needs, ensuring that children are ready to learn and able to succeed.

If you have any concerns about your child, please contact us - we are here to help.

Sophie Chadburn (SENCO) is currently on maternity leave.

Working with Families

We believe that strong partnerships with families are essential.

We:

  • communicate regularly with parents and carers

  • involve families in planning support

  • provide guidance and signposting to additional services

We want every family to feel supported and confident in their child’s education.
