PE and Sport Premium

At Sidlesham Primary School, we want every child to enjoy being active and to develop the confidence, knowledge and skills needed to lead a healthy lifestyle.

The Primary PE and Sport Premium provided additional funding to improve PE, physical activity and sporting opportunities for pupils. The school received £17,110 for the 2025/26 academic year.

We used this funding to support staff development, extracurricular opportunities, equipment and resources, participation in competitions and external coaching. Spending was also targeted to improve opportunities for pupils with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and girls.

At the end of 2025/26:

• 93% of Year 6 pupils could swim competently, confidently and proficiently for at least 25 metres;
• 93% could use a range of swimming strokes effectively;
• 93% could perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.

PE and school sport in 2026/27

The Primary PE and Sport Premium ended following the 2025/26 academic year. Sidlesham Primary School has therefore not received a PE and Sport Premium allocation for 2026/27 and is not required to publish a premium spending plan for this academic year.

We remain committed to providing high-quality PE and sport, including two hours of curriculum PE each week, extracurricular activities and opportunities to participate in competitive sport. During 2026/27, we will continue to monitor participation, inclusion and the quality of our provision. We will also engage with the Government’s new PE and School Sport Partnerships Network as further support becomes available.
